I simply charge what I would pay, being that I'm a somehow generous client that values more getting a complete solution.

But at the same time not more than what actually provides value.

I am a product developer and I just paid a guy around $300 for a marketing report on Fiverr, and his numbers are way off lol, the only accurate part seems to be the estimated units sold per year.

For example I have fridge/freezer specifically designed for camping in minivans and Sprinter vans. He said the manufacturing costs could be $600, and his suggested retail price was $1000

But if a rooftop camping tent for cars, jeeps ect can cost………..$3000, then what could be the manufacturing cost this product? $1500?

Then how the heck could my product, which is more involved, cost only $600 to produce?

So is the markup for these type of products 50%…..%100…..or what? Please give some insight I'm very confused!

Thanks Dan… I’m assessing how to price my line of women’s wear that I make myself. I’ve decided I will scaffold my prices with entry level skirts that are not as detailed and finished as well or made from as a high a quality denim as my higher priced items so that I can allow the customer to see the VALUE in the QUALITY of what I do. This is a very difficult area for designers and makers like me. You have helped a lot. I am seeking long term clients who come to me for quality but I need to move product at the same time. So having a VARIETY of prices is probably the best start. I hope!!

All of your videos are so helpful. I love them. There is just one thing: won’t paying a bonus to someone for doing something cheaply and quickly just cause them to cut corners in terms of time and materials just to get the bonus? Yes they made the project cheaply and quickly, but you end up with a substandard, terrible product. Surely that isn’t something you want. How can you avoid this happening using that pricing strategy?

Digitalvikram 27/09/2021 - 7:37 PM

What if I want to start a coffee shop and I would like to sell my product like coffee in value-based pricing. how would I do that? should I sell it low? then serve a high-quality service? or what? i'm knew to this sorry

Timothy Awinia 27/09/2021 - 7:37 PM

Ive got a question on price to value, how do you find out there profits have increased and by what percentage?

Michael Lombardi-Nash 27/09/2021 - 7:37 PM

I sell books (my own translations), and I price to the package. For example, one book has 1,200 pages, in two parts, with 38 chapters. I sell it whole, in two parts, and by chapter (sometimes, if two or three chapters are related, I'll sell them as a package). Another book is a series of shorter books. I sell the book whole as well as by series. I get good results, and can price way below cost, because I sell the books as e-books and use Amazon as my platform. It is the only way I can generate consistent royalties. I also only translate material that is in the public domain.

Hey Dan I do mobile smart repairs any tips on pricing like per panel or hourly or package whats your idea? An by the love your videos.. keep it up

Akshay Panchal 27/09/2021 - 7:37 PM

Sir, it is one of the best videos I have ever seen. It helps me for deciding the price of my service.
Sir in "Price to Value" if my client and I have an agreement of doing a business excellence project in his organization for let say 6 months or a year. So, now how should I charge him as per price to value.. because i have to do the all required help to achieve the growth for the client for 6 months or a year.
Is it possible to charge the whole package and take the money per month??

Omar kmt 27/09/2021 - 7:37 PM

price to value is the most pragmatic and realistic way for many cases and also for many products price to package is great that's Netflix and apple one in a nutshell.

tiaan muller 27/09/2021 - 7:37 PM

I am a professional real estate photographer, and i use the price to package strategy, but sometimes it feels like i am losing in the process due to the amount of work compared to the amount i get paid.

I am going to start implementing the Price to Value Strategy, which seems a lot more efficient when it comes to my field of expertise. What do you think?
